North Carolina Property Mappers Association

Mapping the future since 1980

William F. Oakes New Hanover County
President 2001

I would like to welcome all of our members to the North Carolina Property Mappers Association. Our membership has grown to well over 300. The groundwork for the NCPMA, which was adopted in 1980, continues to be the strength of this association as we are mapping into the Twenty-First Century. The NCPMA's commitment to a higher standard of professionalism is evident by its sponsored events.

This has been an eventful year for the NCPMA. The Executive Board approved a monetary award to formally recognize the efforts of those who achieve the IAAO designation of "Cadastral Mapping Specialist" (CMS). In March, the NCPMA helped to sponsor the North Carolina Geographic Information Systems Conference in Winston-Salem. It was a great success in many ways. Our electronic North Arrow is becoming the standard for delivering information to the Association.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as your President for the North Carolina Property Mappers Association in 2001. As we celebrate our twenty-first anniversary as the NCPMA, remember that without the hard work and dedication of the Executive Board and the many volunteers on various committees, we would not have had another successful year. I encourage all members to share your experience, knowledge and energy by helping with a committee.

I encourage the membership to inform me or any other Board member if there are any issues or suggestions to improve the North Carolina Property Mappers Association.
